Biography

Stohead (Christoph Haessler) 1973, Germany. Stohead was born in 1973 in Schwäbisch Hall in the southern part of Germany. At the age of 14 he discovered graffiti in the form of tags and old school style pieces that were on the walls of his city. From that moment on, graffiti became part of his life. He started in 1989 and moved to Hamburg and joined the "Getting Up" collective which he co-founded with Daim, Tasek and Daddy Cool. Together, they will create some of the largest walls ever painted in Europe to date. All the strength of the artist's work lies in his contemporary calligraphy and his "Decomposition" style. His stylish letters, his particular calligraphy and his drips are the main elements of his work, just as much as the messages and texts or the rap or punk iconography that rocked his adolescence. Today Stohead lives in Berlin where he works as a painter and sculptor.
