Vibeke Tøjner

She graduated from Skanderborg Gymnasium (da) in 1979 with a bachelor's degree, followed by a master's degree in French Literature and Art History (1980-1987) from Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen . She was a French State Scholar in Paris in 1984-85. She began her career as a painter at the Galerie Basilisk of the École des Écrivains in 1987. "Vibeke Tøjner works in a colorist style of painting rooted in Nordic Expressionism and French Art Informel, including Jean Fautrier . Her motifs are abstractions based on series of impressions from nature." 1 .

She is represented at the Aalborg Museum of Contemporary Art, KUNSTEN (da) , the Kunstmuseet Tønder (da) , the National Historical Museum at Frederiksborg Castle , the Kastrupgårdsamlingen Art Museum (da) , the Royal Print Collection, Den Kongelige Kobberstiksamling (da) , the National Museum of Art in Copenhagen , and the Statens Museum for Kunst .

Vibeke Tøjner has also executed paintings for public spaces, the latest being a 32-meter-long glass painting entitled Ved søen/At the lake for Skanderborg 's new town hall (Skanderborg Fælled), which was opened in October 2016.

Vibeke Tøjner is the sister of Poul Erik Tøjner .
