Biography

I paint Nature.

This Nature, I want it calm and serene, powerful, imposing and omnipresent.

But sometimes also marked by man.

Deforestation, global warming and pollution are at the heart of my concerns.

I paint large spaces where man is often alone outside, or hidden in a small house lost on a hillside, or standing next to a lighthouse, contemplating a strangely calm and empty sea

Tiny in the middle of an immense nature...

My work is like a permanent call to order:

"Don't forget who made you a man".

Everything is static, as if at a standstill. Time is suspended.

We wait.

We wait for the outcome of a merciless struggle between man and Nature.

Who will be victorious?

Nature without any doubt; In any case, I want to believe it.

Do we have any other choice than to be optimistic if we want to continue living?

A Nature wounded by man but victorious!

I think it is this underlying idea that gives my paintings a soothing power over those who contemplate them.
