Biography

For Catherine Requin, painting means changing space-time, accessing a softer world, forgetting pain and difficulties. Her paintings appeal to memories, cheerful and luminous, using a palette of bright colors as in "the patio", or memories borrowed from nostalgia in almost monochrome harmony as in "the piano". These forgotten places tell us their story.

Her technique is at the service of the subject: watercolor for light, ink for precision, or oil for a smooth rendering. From her scientific training, she has retained a taste for detail. They bring lightness to his works.
