Biography
Born in the United States, Salamandra has shared her time between Paris, the USA and central France for the past twenty-five years. A professional visual artist for thirty years, she has exhibited her work regularly since 1989.
Recent solo exhibitions have taken place at the Fonds d'Art Moderne et Contemporain in Montluçon, France and at the Salles Jean-Hélion of the Centre Nicolas-Pomel in Issoire, France, as well as at the Galerie La Ralentie in Paris and the Galerie In Situ in Nogent-le-Rotrou, the Fondation des États-Unis, the 29th Grand Prize of Painting of the city of Saint-Grégoire, and the Franco-American Institute in Rennes.
Salamandra received her PhD in Septembre 2018 from the Sorbonne University in Paris. She also holds an M.F.A. from this same university and a B.F.A. from the Maryland Institute, College of Art. Her doctoral research led solely on her "Raw Meat" series was under the direction of the professor Michel Sicard.
Her "Daily Bread" has been presented at the United States' Ambassador's Residence in Paris, at "Europain : Salon Mondial de la Boulangerie", and shown in galleries in Paris, in Berlin, and in Princeton.
