Uliana Sal is a contemporary abstract artist whose work explores emotional landscapes shaped by memory, nature, and the fragile relationship between humans and their environment. Born on the rugged Kola Peninsula and now based on the Montenegrin coast, she draws inspiration from contrasting geographies — from stark northern mountains to Mediterranean light — transforming them into expressive, imagined terrains.
Mountains serve as a recurring motif in her practice, symbolizing permanence, resilience, and the quiet tension between untouched nature and subtle human presence. Through layered textures and a dynamic palette that blends neon and fluorescent hues with muted natural tones, Uliana creates psychological landscapes that feel both expansive and intimate.
Her work invites viewers into spaces of contemplation, where color becomes emotional energy and abstraction becomes a language of inner experience. Balancing intensity and stillness, her paintings reflect on environmental awareness, memory, and the shifting boundaries between permanence and change.
Uliana’s work has been exhibited internationally, including institutional projects at the Museum of International Art (MoRA), New Jersey, and the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, as well as major art fairs such as Spectrum Miami. She is a recipient of international juried awards from the Circle Foundation for the Arts.
