Biography

Born in 1953, Jean-Jacques Kugel is a French painter and sculptor. He lives and works between Montauban, where he has his atelier and Burkina Faso.

He made his artistic formation at the School of Graphic Arts of Paris. Jean-Jacques Kugel became a member of the House of Artist in 1987.

Even if at first, the artist devoted to painting, later on he turned to the creation of monumental frescoes, which he created either indoors, with the aspect of an optical illusion or outdoors such as those on "Chateaux d'eau".

His meeting with Burkinabe artists and founders had a strong influence on his art, focused on the material. He left to Bobo-Dioulasso in order to create and produce new pieces made with the ancient technique of lost wax. With this new work, the artist obtained the sculpture prize of the Jury, by the public and of children during the Automnale des Art 2013 for his compositions " L'Etreinte"," Cosmic Heart Mother" and "Venus 2."
