Inspired by major figures such as Ernest Pignon-Ernest, Pierre Soulages and Francis Bacon, Verssan explores the human form through a distinctive figurative style. His preferred medium is pastel on paper, which he uses to create works imbued with sensuality and eroticism.
Verssan plays with curves, voids and solids, shadows and lights. His technique consists of rubbing, blurring and blowing the material onto the paper, creating compositions where the shades of color interact with the hue of the support, often in tones of warm gray.
Verssan's works reveal bodies imbued with softness and delicacy, while manifesting an underlying strength and virility. His subjects are treated with a unique sensitivity.
