Description
This striking work captures the intimacy and tenderness between two nude women, superbly rendered in dry pastel on warm grey grain Canson paper.
Fluid lines and skillful shading bring to life the sensuality of the entwined bodies, revealing meticulous attention to detail. The pose, both passionate and erotic, expresses a moment of profound connection. The use of light and shadow accentuates certain erogenous zones of the bodies, such as the breasts and buttocks, while adding a softness to the composition. The subtle contrast between skin tones and the neutral background highlights the palpable emotion of the scene.
This kiss, drawn by Verssan, celebrates love and human connection in its purest and most authentic form.
Presentation
Verssan is a French pastel artist.
Inspired by major figures such as Ernest Pignon-Ernest, Pierre Soulages and Francis Bacon, Verssan explores the human form through a distinctive figurative style. His preferred medium is pastel on paper, which he uses to create works imbued with sensuality and eroticism.
Verssan plays with curves, voids and solids, shadows and lights. His technique consists of rubbing, blurring and blowing the material onto the paper, creating compositions where the shades of color interact with the hue of the support, often in tones of warm gray.
Verssan's works reveal bodies imbued with softness and delicacy, while manifesting an underlying strength and virility. His subjects are treated with a unique sensitivity. Verssan's art does not simply represent the human body, he seeks to capture and express the emotions and nuances of the human condition through his captivating pastels.
