Maurice Rouzée

France

Biography

Maurice Rouzée was a French painter, designer and artist who worked especially during the first half of the XX Century. The artist is considered one of the pupils of Jean Cocteau (1889-1963). He realized many sets for the Opéra national de Paris and frequented Cubist and Astract artists. His artworks, in fact, are characterized by fragmented shapes and lines and by a great sense of movement and dynamism. The subjects of his artworks are indissolubly connected with the Dance and the Theatre world, and they are characterized by geometrical shapes and volumes and by pastel and delicate colors.
