Biography
Josef Istler (1919 -2000) was a key figure in the European avant-garde and a member of the CoBrA movement, known for his explorations in Surrealism and lyrical abstraction.His works - often dark, emotional, and texturally rich -reflect a postwar European sensibility. Istlers contributions remain significant within the discourse of modern and postwar European art
