Michel Tréhet

Born in Le Havre in 1950, Michel Tréhet graduated from the Le Havre School of Fine Arts. He then worked as an art director in advertising.

A painter, he exhibited in various galleries from 1982 to 1993, in Le Havre (the MuMa purchased two works), New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Geneva. Over time, his world has positioned itself on a graphic and refined concept. A sober and composed writing that tells a story, describes an emotion, a moment in life.

This sensitivity flourishes in photography, which resulted in his first series dedicated to Deauville and Trouville. His career, built on drawing, light, architecture, and creation, reveals a very personal perspective, which emerges in his photographic work.

In 2014, he created his "Barbie Story" series, which featured a Barbie Collector dressed by the designers in iconic settings. This series was showcased several times at the Isabelle Laverny Gallery, including "Barbie Birthday" in May 2019.

The Montébello Museum in Trouville is dedicating a retrospective to him in October 2019.
