Marie-Laure Romanet Prin

Marie-Laure Romanet Prin is a French artist whose approach explores gesture, energy, and matter. Rated by Christian Sorriano at Drouot Paris and based in Aubusson, the world capital of tapestry, she inscribes her work between CHAOS and LIGHT, MATTER and BREATH, in a unique visual language connecting HERITAGE and AVANT-GARDE.

Her universe is born from the fusion of materials: paints, collages, fragments of previous canvases, inclusions of threads and wool intertwine to form vibrant strata. Each work becomes a mirror of inner states. The gesture, close to TRANCE, is a DANCE, a RITUAL carried by music and movement, where the invisible emerges in the matter.

The materials she uses – paint, collages of her own fragmented works, threads, and wool – embody this idea of cycle and metamorphosis. Nothing truly disappears: everything TRANSFORMS, REGENERATES, regains meaning in a new vibration. Her Aubusson tapestries extend this dialogue, anchoring her contemporary creation in a secular tradition where every thread becomes memory and breath.

Two of her works have been transposed into Aubusson tapestries, one of which was realized at the Pinton Manufacture, testifying to the subtle continuity between woven tradition and contemporary creativity.

Her work is present in a permanent museum collection at the Haegeumgang Theme Museum (Geoje, South Korea), confirming its international scope. She has exhibited in France, Italy, the United States, South Korea, Poland, Belgium, and Peru.

In 2021, Marie-Laure Romanet Prin initiated the collective project L’Art du Nouveau Monde (The Art of the New World), an extraordinary work uniting 111 artists and 44 poets from 44 countries around a monumental fresco measuring 10 m × 2.10 m and a universal poem, a manifesto of REGENERATION and UNITY.

For her, art is an ACT OF LIFE and an INVITATION TO FEEL rather than understand. She conceives each work as an encounter, a vibration offered to the spectator:
"My gesture is a trance, my canvas a vibration: I invite people to feel the invisible, through an art that liberates and regenerates. My wish is that my creations awaken an inner resonance, a space of freedom, an energy that liberates and regenerates."
