Biography

Lionel Chevalier lives and works in Normandy.
Very early, he was drawn passionately into art and began selling - at only 16 - his watercolors in Saint-Malo (Brittany).
Self-taught, his practice then developed on larger formats using acrylics and creating highly abstrast landscape paintings, influenced by Nicolas De Staël (a French painter of Russian Origin) whom he admires.
With every single piece, Lionel Chevalier captures the beauty of a moment, plays with reflection, colors, light and even an air breeze to transport us in a captivating calm yet intense masterpiece.

A balance of strength and poetry.
