Biography

Kid Kreol & Boogie are two artists born in Reunion, the first in 1984, the second in 1983. They met at the School of Fine Arts of Port, where the obtained their DNSEP (National Diploma of Plastic Expression) in 2010 and 2009.

Their work is based on the Creole fantasy world, which they try to reveal and to sublimate, aware that it tends to fade over the years. These traditions come from the Indian ocean and are characterized by a strong orality which is transmitted through music and family space. Kid Kreol & Boogie try to represent creole imagination in their images, images that they create with a multitude of techniques such as watercolor, ink, serigraphy. Rituals, myths and legends ihabit their pieces, without losing their modernity: the ancient content of their manipulated pièces becomes contemporary.
