Biography

RASOOL, meaning MESSENGER, is a visual artist who narrates Malagasy culture and traditions through his work. His real name is RASOLONIRAINY ARMINAUD, born in 1989 in Toliara (Tuléar), the largest city in southwestern Madagascar. He now lives in Spain. Active in the art world since 2015, his work is a vibrant exploration of Malagasy identity. His artistic approach is distinguished by the bold use of mixed media, fusing painting with collage of found materials.

The artist breathes new life into everyday objects such as plastic, fabric, wood, and metal, integrating them into his compositions to create relief and depth. Through this alliance of materials, he seeks to capture the essence of Madagascar: the richness of its culture, the strength of its traditions, and the resilience of Malagasy life. Each work is a dialogue between the island's wild nature and modernity, transforming raw materials into a poetic homage to its heritage.
