John Wassenaar

Biography

As a fine-art painter John Wassenaar (1959) belongs to the best of the Netherlands and Belgium.

His paintings are made with photographic precision. His technique was reason enough for the well-known Dutch painter Henk Helmantel to give him the title of 'sharp painter'.

John gets his subjects from everyday life, for example: nature, nostalgic village atmospheres, old men and reflections. He does not miss a single detail and paints very precisely with an eye for light, dark and shadow effects.

John prefers to work with oil paint, so he can paint in the most detailed way.

His work is recognizable, although the situations he paints do not always exist in this format.
