José Luis Alonso Samper

His artistic journey began in 1998, while working as a medical physicist in radiation therapy. In 2018, I make the decision to dedicate myself exclusively to the world of painting.
His skill in the visual arts has been mainly self-taught, complemented by participation in selected theoretical-practical workshops. Throughout his artistic career, his focus has invariably been the sea. Currently, his artistic quest revolves around capturing the nuanced passage of time along the rocky coasts, the dimensions of his works are around 90 cm x 150 cm, made with mixed media on canvas. His process involves photographing the sea as a fundamental reference and abstracting these images during the subsequent painting phase to an abstract expression. He looks forward to days with remarkable waves to capture evocative photographs and dedication fuels his daily artistic practice. Over 25 years, he has meticulously produced approximately 300 works.
