Vanessa Beecroft

Born in 1969, Vanessa Beecroft is an American performance artist. Although her main form of expression is through her performance pieces, Beecroft has also worked with sculpture, photographs and painting as her media. 

Beecroft's work centers around gender and race. However, her performances have been criticized for their Western, gender-conformist approach. Beecroft has worked on commercial projects, including a performance for Louis Vuitton, however, she is most widely known for her long-term collaboration with Kanye West.
