Leslie Amine was born in France in 1981. She lives and works in Lyon. She graduated from the Valence Regional School of Fine Arts in 2004. She practices painting, photography and drawing, which serve as foundations for the creation of her canvases.
Of Franco-Beninese origin, she is interested in issues and questions surrounding race, mixed-race experiences and identity. Her work is shaped by the rhythm of her trips around the world; she most often finds inspiration on other continents.
In 2009, Leslie Amine took part in the 54th Salon d'Art contemporain de Montrouge. In 2012, she had a solo exhibition at the Attrape couleurs in Lyon and in 2013 at the GAC in Annonay. In 2015, she participated in the Stories Tellers exhibition organized at the Bandjoun Station Art Center in Cameroon; several of her works are included in the collection. She then took part at the African Contemporary Art Fair 1: 54 in 2016 in London. She has recently exhibited her new work at INSA in Lyon and then in Casablanca at the GVCC gallery. Since 2018, she has been represented by Galerie Claire Corcia in Paris.
