François Boisrond is a French painter, son of filmmakers Michel Boisrond and Annette Wademant. He studied at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris where he met Hervé Di Rosa who introduced him to Robert Combas and Rémi Blanchard. With these artists he will form what will be called the "Free Figuration" movement. François Boisrond does not hide his admiration for poster artists such as Villemot or Savignac. From then on, he created numerous posters for cultural events or advertising campaigns. With Hervé Di rosa he made several trips and exhibitions to New York, Tokyo and with the latter obtained a scholarship awarded by the Villa Medici in 1982 to stay six months in New York where they shared a workshop at PS1. In his early days, Boisrond evolved in a figurative universe representing everyday life, urban landscapes, portraits and self-portraits in a refined and colorful way. His painting illustrates a closed and peaceful world where the small details of everyday reality abound. He revisits the canons of painting and subsequently, using a digital model, engages in the work of recomposing the colored spectrum.
