Biography

Lucas Perrigot is a photographer, video artist and visual artist. Graduated in Applied Arts at La Joliverie (Nantes), in photography at EFET (Paris) and in audiovisual production at ESRA (Rennes). Inspired by Raymond Depardon, Henry Cartier-Bresson, Robert Doisneau and Willy Ronis, he became passionate about film and more particularly the practice of black and white.

Through his meetings and his various works, he followed the group of dancers Les Misfits for two years, across Europe. During this demanding and ambitious report, he refined his technique and his style which he continued to develop.

Characterized by the relationship to movements and declined in multiple forms, his photographs have an essence identifiable by the most informed observers. From 2011, he is particularly interested in Hip Hop culture in the broad sense, in those artists who have left their mark on the French scene of yesterday and today. Artists like Ibeyi, Deluxe, Chinese Man, Guts, JP Manova, MC Solaar and Gaël Faye trust him to capture intimate moments of life, the antithesis of conventional concert photography.

Today driven by a new, even more demanding dynamic, Lucas Perrigot creates contemporary plastic works. A renewal which leads him towards new photographic works or works carried by photography. To discover or rediscover throughout the exhibitions.
