Born in 1958 in Maquela Do Zombo (Angola), Franck K. Lundangi moved to Zaïr (Congo Democratic Republic) with his parents when he was only three years old, fleeing the civil war in their country. 22 years later, he went back to his home country to join the national football team where he played for 5 years before moving again, this time to Gabon.
He turned towards art shortly after his arrival in France in 1990. This revelation, which emerged while meeting a community of artists in the surroundings of Paris, among whom, his future wife Catherine, would create a turning point in Franck Lundangi ’s carreer.
A poet and philosopher, Lundangi 's art explores the themes of life, death and love. His inspiration comes from silence. Franck Lundangi 's approach can be described as spiritual, and cosmological.
Using a variety of techniques : painting, drawing, sculpture and printing, the artist ’s graphic and pictorial universe combines simplicity and elegance. Franck Lundangi has participated in numerous one-man shows as well as collective exhibits and several artist-in-residence programs.
