Biography
Guy Lioult, originally from Normandy, is an animal sculptor.
He enjoys dissecting shapes, exposing the complexity of the skeleton beneath the evidence of the skin, reveals the interior reliefs, the play of planes, translates the fullness and wrinkles of the bodily architecture of each creature.
Guy Lioult favors the observation and representation of wild and familiar animals. His bronze bestiary is rich with tapir, marabou, serpent eagle, meerkat souvenirs from his stay in Guyana and sketches borrowed from the Jardin des Plantes.
