Biography
ANTONIO REVERTE OLIVA (Monteagua, Murcia, 1943 – Gavà, Barcelona, 2014).
A self-taught artist, Antonio Reverte moved to Catalonia in 1961, to Viladecans, a city in Barcelona. In the early 1970s, he participated in competitions and won prizes and distinctions. At the age of forty-seven, he decided to devote himself fully to his artistic practice. Since then, he has painted still lifes and figures in his studio, as well as outdoors. Reverte received, among other awards, the Special Mention at the National Painting Exhibition in 1977 and 1978, the First Prize for Painting in Castelldefels in 1977 and 1978, and the European Citizen Award from the Forum of Europe 01 in 2004. His work is present in more than twenty countries: the United States, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, etc. And in prestigious locations such as Bill Clinton's office and the Holy See, his latest exhibition was held at the Hotel Princesa Sofía in Barcelona.
