Roman Träxler

Traxler Roman is an Austrian artist born in 1970 in Pottenbrunn, Austria, he currently lives and works in Vienna. He studied in Vienna, first at the University of Music and Performing Arts, then at the Conservatory of Jazz and finally did a training in graphic arts at the SAE.

A self-taught painter, his artistic production focuses on figurative painting presented in a contemporary style. He explores the dark sides of life through subjects such as nihilism, existentialism and solitude which he juxtaposes with fragile beauty.

The mood that his canvases emit is often dreamlike with surrealist elements. His work focuses mostly on the depiction of a certain athmosphere in his paintings rather than in its narrative and realist aspect, letting a big door open for interpretation.
