Presentation

Martine Dechavanne, otherwise known as Fauve, is a french painter born in 1955.

Entirely self taught, she developed her artistic culture through what she read and by painting or drawing. Martine started by improving her water-color technique, which she developed and perfected for 8 years. In 1997 she then experimented with different means, such as ink, acrylic or collages.

The painter Georges Roget became her mentor and taught her some final concepts. In the year 2000, she decided to dedicate herself (and her time) to her passion. Her work consists of colorful landscapes and festive portraits. Whether she depicts daily scenes or celebrations, she makes each of these moments joyful.
Inspired by the Fauvism movement, her artist name anchors her style into this movement, with each of her paintings being an ode to color and light.

Her work has been exposed all over France since 2002, the year she won the Paul Mouradian award at the "Salon d'Hiver" in Lyon.
