Florence Douyrou

Florence Douyrou is a French artist born in Biarritz in 1962.
Since a very young age, Florence Douyrou experimented in the world of art, she learned from her father, who made films with a Super 8. Therefore Florence decided to study the different visual and graphic art practices.

It was during her studies that she discovered photography and she decided to enter the Technical School of Photography and Audio visuals of Toulouse. Very attach to her hometown, she loves to photograph the beauty of its very diverse nature, as well as the different values she learned.

She began her professional photography career, by presenting actual photographs in black and white everywhere in the world. Florence Douyrou lived for a while in Paris but she moved back to her native basque country very soon, where she worked on demand and on more personal projects.

The artist does not limit herself to a unique photographic practice and enjoys using diverse techniques, digital as well as film photographs. Florence's photographs offers the viewer a way to modify their perspective of their immediate environment.

Florence Douyrou is very socially involved, she invests a lot of her time and her art to humanistic causes .She also collaborates with the development of artistic practices in schools in zones in difficulty, and in educational and pedagogic therapeutic institutes. Recently, Florence became an active member of the ARCAD association for the regional development of artistic creation.
