Rilda Paco

Rilda Paco is a Bolivian plastic artist, graphic designer, and social communicator. Rilda´s work is versatile in terms of the techniques she employs. In her pieces, she tends to use novel technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence; often combined with traditional approaches in painting, sculpture, drawing, and textile art. Thematically, her works contest our social preconceptions, and are on their own right an open call towards reflection and change.

In 2018 she presented the show “Public intimacies" at the El Mercado de Kinsa Molle Cultural Center, in Sucre, Bolivia; and in 2019 she presented the show “Sin and power did more than faith", in the city of La Paz. An important feat in her career was her show at the Bolivian National Museum of Art, where she presented the series “Woman – Danger – Woman" in 2024; which received acclaim in both the national and international press.

Rilda has received the prestigious Eduardo Abaroa Award in the Digital Visual Arts category. She was the 3D illustrator for the cinematographic project PrisonX, directed by Violeta Ayala; a project which received multiple awards at various international film festivals; The Sundance Film Festival in the US and the CannesXR Festival in France, among others. Besides her individual projects, Rilda also participates of multiple Bolivian contemporary artist collectives (Koa, MAIX, and La Cabrona).
