Sculpture inspired by the following quotes:
Your vision will only become clear when you can look into your own heart. For he who looks out dreams, and he who looks in awakens. Carl Jung

Carl Jung's quote points to the core of his thought: self-knowledge as the path to true consciousness.

When Jung says that "he who looks outside dreams," he means that if we focus our attention solely on the external world—the opinions of others, success, social expectations—we are projecting. That is, we attribute our fears, desires, and internal conflicts to others without recognizing them as our own. This external gaze may keep us occupied, but not necessarily conscious.

In contrast, "he who looks inside awakens" implies an act of courage: exploring our emotions, shadows, contradictions, and deepest longings. For Jung, the process of individuation—becoming fully oneself—is only possible when we confront our "shadow," that which we deny or repress. Looking into the heart is not a romantic exercise, but a profound psychological process that leads to greater clarity, authenticity, and inner freedom.

In short, the quote invites us to stop seeking answers exclusively outside ourselves and to take responsibility for knowing ourselves. Only by understanding our inner world can we live more consciously and less dominated by illusions or external expectations.

A lot of light is like a lot of shadow: it does not reveal the inner gaze. Octavio Paz

Octavio Paz's phrase suggests a profound paradox: both excessive clarity and absolute darkness can prevent us from seeing what is essential.

When he says that "much light is like much shadow," Paz points out that excess—even of something seemingly positive like light—can blind us. Too much explanation, too much exposition or rationalization can saturate our perception and distance us from intimate experience. Just as shadow is hidden by a lack of visibility, excessive light can dazzle and erase nuances.

"It does not reveal the inner gaze" suggests that true knowledge does not arise solely from what is obvious or fully illuminated, but from a balance between light and shadow. The inner gaze requires silence, reflection, and depth; it needs intermediate zones where the ambiguous and the symbolic can speak.

In short, Paz invites us to distrust extremes and to recognize that authentic understanding is born in the harmony between clarity and mystery, between reason and inner depth.
