Biography

Sylvie Robert Alonso is a painter with a passion for the symbolism of Thread. Her work explores this theme, integrating colour as a thread that runs through her emotions. Thread is strongly associated with time. The expression 'the thread of time' is a good illustration of this.

Sylvie's inspiration comes from experience, observation and the impact of art on the individual. She is fascinated and inspired by nature, which is a recurring theme on every canvas. She is also influenced by the following works:

'Les Parques' by Claude Dalbanne, in which three goddesses, Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos spin the thread of Life.

'The Lacemaker' by Vermeer, symbolising patience.

'Ariadne's Thread', a symbol of hope in Greek mythology.

The artist's creative process begins with sketches and introspection. She then uses the technique of acrylic paint, placing the thread on the canvas as an integral part of the subject, a symbolic revelation.

Sylvie Robert Alonso has exhibited her work in art salons and galleries. She has also received several awards.
