Biography
Today I realize that my work is built from accidentally found images, spots of color and lines, which later become an impulse to create new meanings in my artistic practice. I associate my interest in environmental objects with childhood experiences, when many random finds, which did not always have a comprehensible meaning for a child's mind, were supplemented with legends and magical properties. I lived most of my life by the sea and often found curious objects washed up by the waves. It could be a fragment of a car mechanism, a strange light bulb, pieces of granite tiles - in my hands, these debris took on a new life.
It is natural for me to be in constant research. Each work is a kind of poetic image of a pocket full of artifacts. Found things and elements still acquire a sacred meaning for me. Some objects exist naturally in the work, while others become obsolete from the beginning of their use.
The main medium of my artistic practice is painting. I create works characterized by bright colors and a bold combination of abstraction and figurative art. One of the key features is a non-obvious, difficult to interpret image, consisting of different elements. In a way, this technique resembles collage, which, however, is quite close to me. Consciously moving away from the knowledge acquired in academic drawing, I create a "wrong" composition, thus trying to exclude my own ego from the process, allowing my work to develop spontaneously and independently.
My artistic exploration focuses on combining storytelling with found objects.
