Biography
Georges Myral, born in 1954, explored art from a young age, nurturing an early passion for painting. Greatly influenced by the great movements of 20th century abstraction, he drew from various artistic schools to forge his own visual language. His journey led him to fully adopt his status as a painter in 2012, the year his works were revealed by "Open Art Galerie".
Over the years, his practice has turned towards a geometric exploration of the pictorial frame, often using an assemblage of several canvases to create singular compositions. However, 2022 and 2023 mark a radical turning point in his creative process, with a total pause in the production of geometric canvases, no work leaving his studio.
It was in 2024 that he made a striking comeback with a new approach: a painting freed from formal constraints, where shapes and colors unfold in total freedom. His technique, refined over time, is based on the meticulous superposition of layers of oil paint, each color enriching the previous one. His works, sometimes minimalist, sometimes more complex, offer an endless exploration of abstraction, in constant evolution.
