Throughout her career, Regina Gimenez has collaborated on various occasions with Quadrat 9 Editions: the printing atelier run by artist and lithographer Alain Chardon. Located in Poblenou, an old industrial district in Barcelona, very close to the sea and surrounded by old factories, cultural centres and, in the recent years, also by office buildings and trendy cafes.

The result from these collaborations is a body of work that captures both the history and authenticity of the area in the way only Regina Gimenez is capable of. Images related to industry, sea side landscapes and navigation: sailors, maps, boats, a Ferris Wheel, a light house… As well as a Factory and the beloved Hall series composed by four pieces. All reinvented by the artist’s particular sense of composition, mixing geometric patterns with realistic vintage figures that create a sense of nostalgic optimism, a sweet and unique reverie towards a past that is still somewhat tangible.

This ensamble is also her greatest approach to lithography techniques and a magnificent “mise en valeur” of paper as the timeless support it represents.
