Laetitia Giraud lives and paints in Nîmes in the south of France. His paintings surprise with their resolutely photographic aspect, but which result from a very meticulous painting technique. "My approach as a painter begins with a succession of shots taken over several years at random places, encounters, moments to produce a real report on the perception of colors and light. The emphasis is on neon lights, signs , lights and strange colors of the night. It is the atmosphere of these shots that I translate into painting. Thanks to the contrasts obtained and a particular pictorial technique, I try to approach the question of "vibration". The challenge is to confront abstraction and figuration in the same space in order to detach oneself from the model and keep only the impression."
