For this exhibition, I opted for the 90s, a decade where nostalgia mixes with the emergence of artistic movements.
Thank you to all the Lille actors for their proposals, but it is essential for me to make this event where I grew up.
For this, the exhibition will take place in the Dunkirk, Gravelines, Saint-Omer triangle. The 90s were the fertile ground for an explosive hip-hop with emblematic groups such as IAM, NTM, Assassin and FF, which all marked this era with their engaged messages.
It was a period when graffiti considered as a marginal art took over the city walls, transforming urban spaces into open-air galleries.
The 90s were marked by emblematic elements of popular culture, such as mobylette customs or Spirit, Tamagotchi and audio cassettes (K7).
This era also saw the rise of video club culture as well as the importance of video games on consoles like the Super Nintendo and the Sega Mega Drive, which captivated entire generations.
Through this exhibition, I wish to immerse visitors in this cultural dynamic, to explore how these elements have shaped our modern society and continue to vibrate in our daily lives.
