Liz Gartz (Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, 1963) invites us to the opening of her new painting exhibition next Friday, 27 February, which will take place at Espacio Ronda Valencia. Entitled “Voids, Memories and Presences” – Bridges between the obvious and the suggested – she presents a total of 31 oil and encaustic paintings in various formats. The visual artist invites us on a leisurely tour of the exhibition, in a relaxed atmosphere, to connect through introspection and reflection on her recent work. The themes address the past, the feelings derived from it, and the presence of a renewed self. Through elements such as masks or mirrors, the interplay of colour and a balance between abstraction and figuration are revealed, the artist tells us:

As a woman and a migrant, I inhabit a world that was not designed for us. I have witnessed bodies and souls breaking, but I have also witnessed the blossoming of resilience. Colour occupies an essential place in my practice: it is the element that activates the painting, the pulse that generates tension and sustains the emotion of each work.
