Biography
Formerly a freelance photographer and graphic designer for 15 years, Pierre Leccia now uses the image for more artistic purposes.
After a brief stint at the Hans Lucas press agency, he quickly realized that news photography did not suit him.
Indeed, his photographic approach revolves around the idea of the ordinary. For him, it is not a question of looking for the snapshot, the extraordinary place which is sufficient in itself, but, on the contrary, of photographing everyday life, the environment which surrounds it, whether in an urban area or in nature.
Its purpose is to reveal a daily life that we only see for its utilitarian and not aesthetic value, and therefore without emotion.
The minimalist orientation allows him to maintain a line of thought, preferring to lead the reader towards an introspection of the building, the place or the object rather than an overall vision of these.
We must see here the revelation of these commonplaces which are intended for us.
Initially a freelance graphic designer for a 10th year, Pierre LECCIA was able to use the image as part of his work. Today he is moving towards more creative photography whether in the field of architecture or Nature with a minimalist line of thought.
Several of his works have won awards in international competitions.
