Biography

Julie Curtiss is a French visual artist, born in Paris in 1982. Known for her figurative paintings, sculpture and gouache, Curtiss' work explores questions relating to culture and nature. This is particularly within the framework of the female experience, depicted through somewhat surrealistic, fantastical canvases. Her work often reimagines famous pieces from the 17th and 18th impressionist movements.

Curtiss has featured her work in Paris, Japan, and New York, where she now lives and works. The artist notably exhibited her work in a group show entitled “Earthseed," at the Biennale des Arts de Nice, France.
