Sylvie Badia

France • 1947

Biography

A French painter active since the early 1980s, Sylvie Badia develops a body of work at the crossroads of figuration and expressionism. After initial training at the Beaux-Arts, she chose to devote herself fully to painting from 1981 onwards.

Her work is characterized by a generous use of materials, free gestures, and a vibrant palette. The figures she creates—often fragmented, hybrid, almost dreamlike—reflect influences from the COBRA movement and European expressionism.

Exhibited notably in Paris in the 1980s and 1990s, her work is now featured in several collections, including the Cérès Franco Collection.
