Biography

Nudibranchs are small marine mollusks with extraordinary shapes and colors, often compared to living works of art. Lacking shells, they reveal an incredible diversity of textures, patterns, and structures, testifying to the richness and complexity of the underwater world.

Through my work inspired by these organisms, I seek to highlight the fragile and often invisible beauty of the oceans. I choose to represent them on an XXL scale in order to make them visible to man, to give them back a presence and an importance that they do not have at their actual size.

The movements of the lines and forms that I develop are directly inspired by their morphology, but also by the rhythm of the water: they evoke the undulations, flows and currents of the sea, creating a dialogue between matter, gesture and the ocean.

I work with local cedar from my region of Brittany, a living, organic material steeped in history. This wood, through its scent, texture, and fibers, extends the connection with the living world and anchors my sculptures in a specific territory, resonating with the marine ecosystems I evoke.

But beyond aesthetics, this approach is part of a desire to raise awareness The ocean is an ancient and essential ecosystem, upon which the planet's balance depends. Plankton, present on Earth long before the appearance of humanity, plays a fundamental role in oxygen production and climate regulation, and will likely still exist after we are gone.

Faced with this temporality, our presence appears brief and fragile. My work thus offers a reflection on our impact and our responsibility: preserving these discreet worlds means preserving the very foundations of life on Earth.
