Awaré

Duo formed by Sylvia Eustache Rools and Jérôme Pereira.

AWARÉ are pieces associating Sylvia's textile geology and Jérôme's mineral sculptures. The alliance of silk and wood, of dyeing and cutting. It is a Japanese expression "mono no aware" which designates the poignant feeling of the impermanence of things and the English term "aware" which means being conscious of the name of the duo they form.

AWARÉ received the Kit Kemp Firmdale "one to watch" award during its participation in the COLLECT fair in London in 2018 and was part of the finalists for the 2022 edition of the LOEWE CRAFT PRIZE. The pieces of AWARÉ are represented by the gallery Maison Parisienne. We were able to see them at the PAD (London and Paris), Collect Art Fair (London), Seoul Museum of Craft Art, Culture-Sphere Gallery (Munich).
