Presentation

For a few years Edith Baudrand has been developing engraving and lithography work around the plant world and nature in general. On the edge of abstraction, his organic lithographs and imprints of poetry translate his desire to see further, to embrace the world in order to better understand it. This aesthetic research testifies to the deep dialogue that the artist maintains with his environment and the deep links uniting man and nature. Her work also underground questions the body, erotic life, sexuality or its absence, constantly forging links with the imagination of childhood which remains the anchor of her artistic research. Édith Baudrand was born in Nantes in 1972 After training at the Emile Cohl school in Lyon, Edith Baudrand moved to Paris to devote herself to illustrating children's books and collaborated in particular with the publishing houses Nathan, Gallimard , Grasset or Bordas ... Also trained in animation cinema, she designs the animations of Stéphane Horel's documentaries for France 5. At the same time as this work, she responds to commissions for the theater and the cinema. Among other things, she creates the canvases of Séraphine de Senlis for the film Séraphine by Martin Provost, awarded at the Césars. And more recently, reproduced and adapted the works of Vincent Van Gogh in oil for the film At Eternity's gate by Julian Schnabel.
