Born in 1981 as Nicolas Poirier, Bishop Parigo is a French contemporary artist , illustrator , painter and street artist based in the Paris region. A unique figure in contemporary urban art , since the early 2000s he has developed an immediately identifiable universe, populated by colorful birds, benevolent creatures and dreamlike characters that celebrate joy, optimism and carefree spirit.
Passionate about drawing since childhood, he gravitated towards artistic professions early on, enrolling in a vocational training program in applied arts. He earned a vocational diploma (BEP) in sign painting and then a certificate (CAP) in graphic design and model making , acquiring a technical mastery that would enrich his graphic work and illustration practice. After working as a graphic designer for many years, he chose to dedicate himself fully to his artistic pursuits in order to develop his own visual language.
A self-taught street art , Bishop Parigo creates a world where smiles reign supreme and where childlike imagination remains a vital source of inspiration. His famous little birds, which have become his signature, embody values of peace, love, and freedom. Through them, the artist invites viewers to rediscover their inner child and take a lighter look at everyday life.
His work unfolds across a wide variety of media: canvases , paper, wood, concrete, textiles, design objects, art toys, and monumental murals. This cross-disciplinary approach reflects a free and protean creative practice, situated at the crossroads of Pop Art , contemporary illustration , and urban art . Vibrant colors, rounded shapes, and expressive gazes are recurring elements of a resolutely positive aesthetic accessible to all audiences.
Throughout his career, Bishop Parigo has collaborated with numerous brands and institutions including Posca, Casio G-Shock, Eastpak, Google, Flik Flak, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Mini Cooper, Pull In, Toms and Les Enfoirés in 2018. These projects demonstrate his ability to create a dialogue between artistic creation , design and popular culture while preserving the unique identity of his universe.
His works and murals can be seen in several French cities, notably Lagny-sur-Marne, Decazeville, Antibes, and Villeparisis. In 2019, he created the permanent mural Funny Birds as part of the Mur Murs festival in Decazeville. In 2023, he completed a monumental 49 m² painting in Antibes, while in 2025 he inaugurated a collaborative mural at the Ernest-Renan school in Villeparisis, involving students in the creative process.
Through his work as an urban painter , illustrator, and multidisciplinary creator, Bishop Parigo champions a profoundly humanist vision of art, where color, play, and poetry become vehicles for emotion and connection. His joyful and instantly recognizable style has earned him a unique place within the French contemporary street art scene.
