Biography

Eva Klötgen is a Franco-German artist, born in 1966. She has been part of the artistic and cultural environment since her childhood and she is passionate about poetry. After studying philosophy, it was finally painting the discipline that pleased her the most, so she decided to devote to it.

She became interested in the works of philosopher Martin Heidegger and about aesthetic philosophy in general, but it was her discovery of Odilon Redon's work that was foundamental for her artistic production. Like a revelation, Eva Klötgen's work has an increasing tendency toward abstraction.

At first she used a lot of oil paint before starting to use dry pastels which she applies on linen canvases. This technique represents a challenge but it adds variety and shades to her color pallette.
