Marikler

Marikler likes to dissect an object, to highlight the simple forms which constitute it. These shapes which can be geometric, the artist rearranges them. She reconstructs another object which in her opinion, is a way of making it more visible to our eyes. The artist gives a palpable aspect to what we do not necessarily pay attention to as it is small, useful or mundane.

The spiral is a complex geometric shape, frequent and yet so discreet. Galaxies, snails, succulents, fiddleheads, flower hearts, pinecones, cabbage, and the spiral staircase, a rope on the quays: the spiral is everywhere.
