Biography

PôL Attard is a Raphaëlois painter born in the Parisian suburbs in 1978 where he lived until 1996. From his Parisian origins, he has kept the strength of the “suburban RAP” culture and the wanderings of an explorer's youth. urban area, including Paris and its periphery at that time, offered an unlimited field of exploration! As a result, this period feeds his thirst for physical, intellectual freedom and defines his style without concessions, violent, emotional and iconographic.

Very young, he was already passionate about drawing, it was only natural that his mother made him take lessons and made him discover Parisian exhibitions and art galleries in particular.

Forget about academic limits, PôL Attard draws its inspiration as much from the neo-expressionist movement as from street art. His style combines Bad painting, free figuration, tag and graffiti that he expresses on the canvas rather than on the walls.

We will obviously recognize the Basquièse inspiration for the less knowledgeable but also the influence of many artists such as; Johnathan Meese, Arrnulf Rainer, Franz Kline, Ahmed Al Safi, Julien Schnabel, Peter Saul, Lucio Fontana and many others among whom he would like to register his name in the "pantheon" of subjective, subversive artists, reconnecting with materiality and gesturality paint.

PôL Attard's painting is “anarcho-nauseating”, extremely lively, it appeals to the senses and does not leave unscathed, an object of pop culture 2.0 is “new-age neo-expressionism”.
