Presentation

Guillaume Lemarquier alias Mist was born in Paris in 1972. He is a street artist, and more specifically a graffiti artist, an art that he discovered in 1988.

He became recognized very quickly as one of the most talented and respected graffiti artists in Paris and as one of the best artists making "wild style" graffiti lettering in Europe. He has marked the generation that gave birth to what was to become street-art culture.

His style and his collaborations with artists such as Tilt, Steph Cop, T. Kid or Bando brought him international fame.
He is one of the pioneers of the designer toys phenomenon, (the small vinyl sculptures).

The construction lines of his letters and their contours have disappeared from his works; it took him more than 10 years of work in the studio, making place to an abstraction whose dynamism and spontaneity stayed intact. The patina of his backgrounds still shows the stigmata from the abandoned walls that he knows so well.

Contemplating a painting by Mist gives us the opportunity to lose ourselves in an abstract and hypnotic composition combining urban and contemporary art.
