CLAKS (Axel-Téo Clementi, b. 2000, France)

CLAKS is a French contemporary artist whose practice bridges urban art, portraiture, and material experimentation. Rooted in graffiti culture and inspired by the academic tradition of portrait painting, he is best known for his large-scale murals and distinctive figurative works that explore identity, memory, and the human gaze.

A graduate of the prestigious Gobelins School (2021) and École Boulle in Paris (2024), CLAKS has developed a visual language characterized by sculptural shadows, geometric forms, and expressive monochrome portraits. His work transforms public space into a platform for human connection, inviting viewers to engage with the faces and stories that populate contemporary society.

Alongside his mural practice, CLAKS created ÉCLAT©, an innovative body of work that preserves fragments of his urban murals and reassembles them into unique mixed-media artworks. Through this process, pieces of the city itself become collectible objects, preserving the history and materiality of the original wall.

His work has been exhibited in France and internationally, including at Stroke Art Fair (Munich), Zoo Art Show (La Défense), Galerie Outsiders (Enghien-les-Bains), and Galerie ERBK (Paris). CLAKS has also completed commissions and collaborations for major institutions and brands including Netflix, Canal+, Gaumont, the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé, the French Basketball Federation (FFBB), and Circuit Paul Ricard.

Today, CLAKS lives and works between Paris and the South of France, continuing to develop a practice that connects street art, contemporary portraiture, and urban archaeology.
