Biography

ARIKA UNO is a French artist born in the Parisian suburbs at the beginning of the 80s. After having lived in London to study music, he decided some time ago to return to his first loves and in particular those for Japanese culture and drawings. animated from his childhood.

After a chaotic musical journey and a series of disappointments, he returned to drawing and illustration, with his experience and his graphically very rich cultural background. His nickname is just the anagram of the famous manga created from 1982 by Katsuhiro Otomo: Akira

Akira takes up current themes and in the manner of Otomo's work, exercises a critique of capitalism, but also pays tribute to all these childhood heroes and their teeming creative universes.
